Early Magazine Cover -Magazines back then are not as we see them today. They started with a title and table of contents. There was no description of what the magazine was about. Some just had a picture or illustration than a description. Cover lines were used and many had no covers and just started with an article. In the later 1800s there started to be covers with more illustrations and the name of many departments to be found inside the magazine instead of a table of contents. Poster Cover - These appeared in many types of magazines. They could be defined to as there are no cover lines or themes noted. Some of the poster covers had no relation to the story inside the magazine. The picture in the poster was more for a mood or the season in. In early and mid 1900s poster covers were used more prominently. They fist started with no cover lines and went adding a few over the time. It was used a lot in the 20th century but still is around. One made even more special given the cover was photographed by Michael Avedon, the grandson of Richard Avedon. The cover was a global hit: drawing more than 6 million unique visitors to harpersbazaar.com and generating more than 500 million media impressions." Critique This photo has a great lighting to make it dark at the very left and lighter at the right. The gray background matches with the models clothing. The exposure of the portrait is also very good. The composition is good, the model is well arranged to make this portrait. The gray fur has also a good composition. The model looking up makes it a little more interesting and it caped my attention. The picture has no really dark or no really light colors which is mostly in the middle and it is good.
