In the 2016 summer olympics the USA swim team won a total of 33 medals. They competed in 100m-200m backstroke, 100-200m butterfly, 200m individual medley 200-400 freestyle relay, 100m medley relay. The USA was the leading country winning 16 gold medals. Michael Phelps, Ryan murphy, and Katie Ledecky are some of those with the most wins.
All four strokes have different rules and techniques. Keeping your head the most of the time is a rule.
The swimmer should get in position when the referee says on your marks to get ready to take a dive when the whistle is blown. Some jargons include: Flutter kick which is basically a kick for a stroke, a heat which is a competition that precedes a semi-final, a glide is something a swimmer does when he/she is not moving much but just going with the flow. Swim in molasses, make waves, test the water, ride the wave, just add water reach for the wall are examples of cliches.
